Liquid Supplements

We understand proper nutrition for your herd is much more than having a lot of grass, hay and a seasonal feed program. With benefits such as increased forage digestibility and utilization, convenience and a highly palatable method to provide supplemental protein, energy, vitamins and minerals; liquid feed is a great option! Liquid feeds are ideal carriers for urea, enhancing utilization more effectively than traditional dry supplements. Base ingredients (primarily molasses) supply the readily available sugar energy and other nutrients the microbes need.

TMR RATIONS

Our liquid products can help control dust, prevent sorting at the bunk, and act as a reliable carrier to bring added nutrients to the ration in a consistent, convenient, and cost saving manner. From starter rations to finishing rations, Westway Feed Products has a liquid component that can assist in maximizing the potential for your feedlot cattle.

Blends can be custom tailored by our nutritionists for any specific situation that a particular group of cattle may have. These blends can be as simple as two ingredients that provide protein and/or energy or more complex by adding protein, energy, vitamins, minerals, and other additives such as enzymes or Ionophores.

PASTURE TANKS

Minimal waste and an opportunity for less dominant animals to come to the feed unchallenged gives your herd increased breed up rates and reproductive performance.

Westway Feed Products’ liquid feed and tub supplements provide supplemental protein, energy, vitamins and minerals. Every brand of Westway’s free-choice liquid supplements are formulated and manufactured to provide a consistent source of supplemental nutrients to bridge the gap between what forages provide and what your cattle need.

COW/CALF MIX 30

MIX 30 can be fed free-choice or mixed in a grain ration. The high energy of MIX 30 keeps cows in optimum condition and increases calf weight gain, especially as forage quality decreases. MIX 30 is low in starch and sugar making it an excellent addition to any forage-based diet. Unlike other liquid feeds that contain high levels of urea, MIX 30 is safe to feed in open top tubs or tanks without fear of digestive upset. In addition, the fat in MIX 30 provides a concentrated source of linoleic fatty acid, an important nutrient in beef cow nutrition. Producers feeding MIX 30 can expect intakes of 1 to 4 pounds/head/day depending on body condition and forage conditions.

BACKGROUNDING

One of the simplest and least labor intensive ways of backgrounding your calves is with liquid feed. The calves are most susceptible to Coccidiosis after the first 28 days of a stressor, weaning. With our 32% protein, 10% fat calf liquid with added Deccox, worry less. With open tops of #3008 you have potential for increased calf immunity and long-term health advantages. We also have this without Deccox.

FEEDLOT MIX 30

Background Cattle

Starting and growing cattle rations will benefit from the addition of MIX 30 at levels of up to 25%. Similar to the beef cow diet, MIX 30 provides an economical source of protein and energy for supplementing, starting and growing cattle on high forage diets. MIX 30 enhances ration palatability which contributes to higher feed intakes. Typical inclusion rates of MIX 30 are ½ to 4 pounds/head/day depending on the composition of the background ration.

Finishing Cattle

MIX 30 began in the feedlot and it provides a proven and economical means of supplementing protein and energy into the diet while simultaneously serving as a ration conditioner. In dry rations, MIX 30 helps to hold the ingredients together to prevent feed bunk separation. Furthermore, the 10% fat level in MIX 30 can meet the optimum dietary fat level when used in a high concentrate ration. MIX 30 also contains ammonium chloride which is often used in feedlot rations. MIX 30 is typically mixed into a ration at 1 to 3 pounds/head/day.

MIX 30 FOR SHEEP

A balanced feed ration is essential for normal health, growth and reproduction in sheep. Sheep are ruminants, they have a compartmental stomach. The rumen allows the animal to consume plant material and retain it long enough to allow bacteria, protozoa and fungi to break down and digest the material.

Mix 30 liquid feed is a “high energy” protein supplement created from a combination of corn and soy-based co-products.  MIX 30 is a very versatile and convenient product to use. Producers of all ruminants, including goats can feed free choice in small open top containers or mixed into rations.  Goats can benefit from the nutritional aspects of MIX 30, which can be lacking in their normal diets.
